. . . Gateways Into The World!

This blog features the modes of human becoming. These reflect the active, ongoing life-process found in all human beings. That process is human experiencing.  Its forms can be seen running throughout civilization, visible outwardly in archeology but inwardly in physiology too, in the way we humans form our bodies and fashion our lives.

My book, The Stuff of a Lifetime, explores both the defining and the configuring influence that personal experiencing has on the life of the individual when stretched across the entire span of it. Because all human experience is simultaneously enacted and embodied, it shapes and molds the rest of one’s life as well — and that experiencing shows itself plainly in what one does and becomes.  The six bio-sketches depicted there are also posted here to start off this blog. They serve as a ready reference in the blog’s ongoing investigation and are meant to help carry its overall exploration even further.

By title, the modes treated here are :

I. bespeaking . . . and the Artistic experience of life

(On James Cagney)

II. believing . . .  and the Religious experience of life

(On Nikos Kazantzakis)

III. beholding . . . and the Philosophic experience of life

(On Paul Tillich)

IV. behesting . . . and the Historical experience of life

(On  Oriana Fallaci)

V. besteading . . . and the Political and Economic experience of life

(On  Thomas Jefferson)

VI. belonging . . . and the Scientific experience of life

(On  Stanley Keleman)

Regardless of how crude or rudimentary the forms they take may be, or how the varying the countless combinations they might be placed in by individuals, the effect and outcome of these remain powerful and telling nevertheless. They shape the understanding we hold of our daily experience, fashion our lives in general, and forge our way into the future.
